A brand-new, invitation-only billfish event, the Abaco Beach Invitational will bring together elite teams for three days of competitive fishing in the crystal-clear waters surrounding the Abacos. With Skip's Tournaments' signature hospitality, precision organization, and emphasis on camaraderie, this invitational promises to become a cornerstone event in the spring billfish season.
Highlights include:
So, where can we hold a competitive marlin tournament that isn’t too far from South Florida and where the fishing is excellent? ABACO BEACH RESORT AND BOAT HARBOUR MARINA!
Why there, you ask? The resort's marina can accommodate plenty of boats and large tanks of fuel are readily available. Additionally, the resort has a fully enclosed air-conditioned banquet tent, large enough to seat 400 people. They know how to put on a great awards dinner!
Abaco Beach Resort has hosted the biggest fishing events held in the Bahamas, such as the the Bertram/Hatteras Shootout and presently the Custom Boat Shootout. The marina has the reputation of providing boat owners with good facilities, and the resort offers numerous oceanfront room options, villas, a restaurant, bar, two pools and a sandy beach. The local diving is great, deep-dropping & bottom fishing is consistent and bonefish can be caught nearby too. The resort is located closer to home than you might think, and fishing grounds are easily accessible from the marina. Marsh Harbour also has an international airport with many flight options with direct, non-stop flights out of Ft. Lauderdale, West Palm Beach, Miami, Orlando and Jacksonville on American, Bahamas Air and Silver Airlines with a number of private charter operators also available.
There have been two Blue Marlin over 1,000 lbs. caught offshore in the surrounding waters, not to mention the many that were lost! Navigation to and from the U.S. is easy as most people can navigate the inside reefs from West End to Abaco. We already have a few sponsors and many boats already trying to sign up! We would love to have you on board! If you are interested, please give me a call at 954-531-7985
